Guansheng Wang, a local farmer in Taicang, China, walks through those abandoned greenhouses beside his farm fields on Dec. 17, 2017. Because of the rapid economic re-emergence of Chinese society, most of the young adults in this town move to urban areas permanently, whereas the older generations stay in the country. People in this area no longer live off the land, so most of them sold their portion to a native around 2014. In the beginning of 2017, because of the technology issue and cash flow problems, the operation of those farm fields were halted. A year later, nobody seems care about those farmlands anymore.
